Ill pass on the 6800 Ultra since they are so damn expensive, so I was looking on newegg and they got the nice eVGA 6800GT w/256 megs and core of 350 mhz which I had my eye on for a while, but the BFG is the same except its core is 370 mhz instead of 350. Does that mean if I were to overclock both I would able to overclock more on the BFG than the eVGA or will it not make a difference? Right now the BFG has a $15 dollar rebate so they are both priced around the same for $370. Thanks!
The BFG is unlikely to clock any better then the eVGA. One GT is as good as another GT since the chips are all speed binned at the factory. Any chip that really could overclock better will end up in the 6800 Ultra bin.
I'm using a 6600 GT, manufacturer OC'ed. Runs like a dream--it has only 128 of RAM, but coupled with a good processor and enough system RAM to back it up, it'll run anything they make within the next year or two I'm betting. The higher RAM count is offset by the thing having a 550 MhZ clock--straight from the manufacturer. I've seen very detailed reviews, with charts, from PCworld or a similar site (might have been PC mag's website)--the 6600 GT OC did almost as well as the 6800 Ultra, which costs approximately 3 times the price. In some categories it even out-performed the Ultra. Not bad for a card that costs less than a third of the price.

That's plain impossible, the 6600 (NV43) has 8/3 pipes and a 128bit memory interface vs. the 16/6 pipes and 256bit memory interface of a 6800 (NV40).
BFG has me sold with its tech support and that its American based. I just hope I wont be speaking to an Indian if I were to ever call them up.
I just found some reviews and the BFG is damn sweet, especially since it costs the same as the eVGA if you buy from newegg. Thanks for your suggestions!
No Indians at BFG. I had a "problem" (I'll spare you the hairdryer and screwdriver story) with an FX5900. I sent it in, got a 6800OC back. I've heard it happens a lot.
Hey! My card did pretty good. What I want to know though is why they benchmarked Halo with FA and AA. It doesn't support these options. You can certainly do it, but you're not going to get great results.
