Cyberman 2

Post by Grendel »

I was wondering if anyone ever used the Logitech Cyberman 2 for Descent and what you think about it. Looks like an intriguing controller:

Reason for asking: I'm wondering if people think it may be worth to have it as an HID USB device that could be used w/ Descent. (I just got one on eBay ($27))

Ah, the old Cyberman! The only Descent player I've every seen use one is Starken. He was/is a pretty good player, but I think that thing was holding him back a bit. It requires a lot of tweaking, and even then a very light touch is needed. It's probably kind of like a space-orb in some ways.

After seeing Starken's I bought one and tried it out but didn't stick with it. I realized it would take months to get as good with the Cyberman as I was with my stick (or that I probably wouldn't get as good as I was).

Hopefully Starken will see this thread and put in his opinions, which will be vastly more accurate than mine.

I think I can make my little project work w/ the CM2 (looking at doc right now) -- wonder if it's worthwhile. Hm, reminds me that I got an WM Interceptor collecting dust.. :)
