I came across this soon to be released game on Tom's site. It is expected to be released this Autumn. The first thing I noticed were the graphics; they are as good as Age of Empires III and utilize SM 3.0. The next thing was the ability to customize your units which is awesome. Take a look here.

I played the original. It was one of the best RTS games I've ever played, hands down. Its multiplayer, however, ended up falling into a rut. No aircraft, no weapons of mass destruction games became the norm, while building exclusively one type of extremely heavy unit was the only way to win. Hopefully Earth 2160 will rectify some of these problems.

I liked The Moon Project, it was really fun - except for the singleplayer campaign. Skirmishes were awesome though.
