A buddy of mine owns a firearms store here in town and asked me if I'd help him out in the mornings.
Blah, 11.00/hour... but, he's a good guy and needs my help.
Anyway, he's sending me to Front-Sight as a 'thank you'.
If any of you firearm guys are not aware of Front Sight you're missing out.

Intensive tactical training from pistol to long range precision.
I'm stoked! It costs just under 10k for the training.
That's a big thank you.
I'm going to Front Sight!

It's two four day courses. You can schedule them anyway you want. I'll probably go for four days take a week break and go back for the other four.
The thing is that my buddy has a lifetime membership( Bronze, I think) and was the police chief of my city for the past 30 years. He told me he went there with a small chip on his shoulder thinking he would already know what they're teaching. He said they're so cutting-edge that it'll make me feel like a beginner again. He told me that he learned more in the two weeks then he did his entire 30 years.
One of the requirements for the tactical pistol class is being able to draw your defense weapon from a holstered position and fire off two rounds on target in under a second. If you fail, you will be sent to a "skill-builder" class.
under a second? I'm old, I can't move that damn fast anymore.
lol@ Sarge.. That fat guy in the middle with the loppsided MOOB? Yeah, that's me.
