What do people that aren't sleeping do around 2 AM at night?

At the moment it's been posting on the Mathematica news group and trying to learn DirectX 3D by browsing tutorial code listening to movie soundtracks. Yay!

I'm always up till about 4 am during the summer, so I'm surfing the internet, playing Forza Motorsports online, cleaning up my room, and making my way through the first 3 seasons of Family Guy.

I was reading the latest Harry Potter book :D

Usually at that time, I'm either going out or sleeping. Sounds like you guys have your priorities wrong ;)

Well, my work schedule has me working 4pm - 10:00 pm 6 days a week, so I usually wake up around 2pm. Thus, I don't get tired till around 3 or 4 in the morning. What I usually do is hit the streets around 2:30 or 3:00am, and roam around, enjoying the silence of an otherwise overactive suburb. Sometimes I even head over to the little park near my house and take a nap. Most people would call me slightly deranged, but there's really nothing more pleasurable to me than seeing the world unadulterated by hustle, bustle, and noise pollution.

My buddy and I used to go rollerblading (sorta gay I know) at 2am when I was in highschool. You could just go right down the middle of major roads (I'm from a small town). It was very serene.

I've always found a nice hot soak in either a hot tub or a bath to be just the thing.

Back when I was working nights, I drank every night and that helped me sleep. I was in the restaurant business though, so it sorta went with the territory.

If I really need to get some sleep one night and if I suspect that I won't be able to (like because it's four hours earlier than I had been going), I just hit myself up with a large meal about an hour before I want to hit the hay and one or two melatonin pills a half hour before I want to nod off. Disgesting large meals I've found has the same effect of exercise without "pumping" me up.

I end up watching three hours of Adult Swim most nights, so I'm up until at least two. After that, I may browse a few forums or read part of a book before going to bed. Living at college for a year made me discover my night-owl side. :)

lol.. dude (and dudette ;)). Even most of the Christian community thinks that's bunk. I mean come on. You can wrap an algorithim around just about any extensive writing and comeup with something like that.

But back on topic.

You guys shock and disappoint me. You SHOULD be playing Descent! Where ARE your Priorities!!!???
