Getting movies to work in d2x...

Post by NWRhino »

Do I have to keep my original CD in the drive to get the movies to work during the different systems (zeta aquilae, etc), or do those not work in d2x? The mine escape movies don't work either :(

Just do the crazy install and then you don't have to worry about the CD.

-Put the movie files from the CD in your D2 folder
-Open up d2x.ini
-Put a ; in front of the line "-no movies".

Sorry to hijack the topic, but after I've done all that (crazy install of D2, enabling movies in the D2X-W32 options) moves play all chopppy making them almost unwatchable. Anything I can do about that? I have a reasonable system (3000+ AMD, 1GB RAM, 9500 Pro VC) and the movies play fine outside of D2X-W32.

yea I was having the same problem. to fix it just go to render options, scroll all the way down and uncheck "display movies in high quality" or whatever it's called. that should work

Mac OS X

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but does anyone know how to get movies to work in the Mac OS X version of D2X?

Okay, but isn't that thread for D2X-W32? Which is for Windows? I'll look, but it might take me a few hours, given its length, so I would appreciate help with a page # if you have it in front of you. 8)

Alright, well that was a complete waste of time. There's nothing in that thread that wasn't already said in this one.

The Mac version of D2 doesn't have high and low resolution versions of the movies. Just one version. And it's supposedly a different format, as the installation.txt file that accompanies it says. But that's all it says.

So perhaps I should find PC copies of the movies? Is it illegal if I request them here, since I already own them technically?
