what Torrent programs are the best?
i've been using G3-torrent for a while. while it has great features and i love it so, it fucks up and never saves the list of torrents i'm downloading when it exits (so i have to RE-add them everytime i load the program up).
so what's something better? what does everyone use?

I use Azureus myself. I sampled a few others a while back and found the way Azureus handles what I consider to be a key feature (managing individual files in a multi-file torrent) better than any of them. The downside though is that it's written in Java meaning that, among other things, its memory footprint can grow quite large. It doesn't particularly bother me since I have a gig but ymmv.
These days however, I'm doing most of my torrenting through my Linux PC at home. Since it doesn't have a GUI installed I run BitTornado on it in a screen session so that I can leave it running in the background and only connect to it (via SSH) to check its progress.

I have not seen a BT client that doesnt hit the systems performance on larger files, which is why I run most torrents over 300 MB on a different computer entirely.Top Gun wrote:Another vote for Azureus here. It does substantially slow down my system at times, but since I'm rarely doing anything else while running a download, I don't really mind.
