Descent Download Problems
The other day I tried to download those videos of the intro/end movies from the PSX version of descent onto my computer but I couldnt because I beleive they were in a streamed format and ive got a firewall up and I was just wondering how I could go about downloading these, hopefully without having to turn the firewall off to do so. Ive had some nasty viruses/worms get in before I had the firewall so it would be prefereable if I could keep it on and still have a way to download those videos because I really wanted to see them again.

Descent Download
I knew where the thread was, that wasnt my problem. The problem was when I tried to download those files in the thread I couldnt view them because I beleive they were only in a streamed format and not just a straight download format and I dont think my firewall I have on my computer will let me stream those files.

Descent Download Problem
I figured it out, I tried the "save target as" option in the menu when I left clicked the hyperlink so I was able to directly download it. Thanks anyways.

Descent Download Problems
I actually got the PSX descent videos downloaded, problem is that when I play them I only hear the sounds and the music and dont see the actual video. Im playing it on the Windows Media Player. Anybody know whats going on?
Try VLC player. Its free, it works on most videos, and there are few headaches with all the codecs out there.

definately a codec issue, IMO.
Check HERE, you should find all the information you ever need to resolve codec errors past or present, and probably future too
Good luck!

You need DivX.DescentMan04 wrote:I actually got the PSX descent videos downloaded, problem is that when I play them I only hear the sounds and the music and dont see the actual video. Im playing it on the Windows Media Player. Anybody know whats going on?
btw, AVI by default isn't a streaming file. You probably have a plugin installed that allows it to be played through the browser. When someone posts a link to a video, always try to right-click and select "Save Target As".
You'll also want to check out Media Player Classic. Plays damn near any video/audio format. You can get tons of plugins for it at that site as well.

I donwloaded DivX and Media Player Classic like you suggested and they both play the PSX movies. I was able to get a few screenshots from them.
