World of Warcraft
I play it now, although casually. I play on Doomhammer, just wondering what servers everyone else was on in case I were to setup an alt; I'd like to play with some of you all.

Well the main problem I was so entangled in FFXI was the aspect of standing around waiting for a group, since 95% of the game is not soloable.
WoW is less addictive IMHO, since I can play solo. The only addictive factor is the fun, which can happen any time I play instead of if I have a party or not.
On a side note, how do I stop the game from making a log folder on my desktop?

The game is sneaky like that, don't be fooled. I soloed to 58 in the beta. I rolled with a regular 5 man group in release to 55-ish. I did the PUG thing for a little while, then joined the (then unknown, now deceased) Discordia. Any of you farmiliar with the Archimonde server, or Xi, are probably shaking their heads.JMEaT wrote:Well the main problem I was so entangled in FFXI was the aspect of standing around waiting for a group, since 95% of the game is not soloable.

We were, for a very brief and artificially sustained period of time, one of the top 10 guilds in the game. We had the fourth Onyxia kill, 5th Rag kill, and were icons of progress (and, thanks to Xi and one or two lesser d*ckheads, a reputation for relentless faggotry). I am/was one of the better priests on my server, which is one of the more compedative servers.
So, yeah, I've done the "high end" thing, and it's really rough. You only *need* 5 people to do the high end normal instances (7-8 for UBRS), but most people are scrubs and insist on bringing the max allowed in, 10 most places and 15 for UBRS. Which means a lot of sitting in town LFM. I left Discordia, so I know for sure flying solo at 60 is going to make you hate yourself. And you'll never do a raid out of guild, and since raids = 40 people it's a ton of waiting around for slackers.
And PVP sucks in that game. On a good day, I'd go out with a friend and try to pick fights, either with the rare 5 man forming up outside an instance (with shako, I'll happily engage any 5-man pickup group) but inevidably get rolled while the rest of hte 10 man trickled in. If we go pick fights with farmers it's jsut not fun until we get like 8 of them on us. The "battlegrounds" aren't good PVP either, Alterac Valley is won when 2-3 people out-pve the opposing side (of 40) and Warsong Gulch you can lose 9 of your 10 man team for no kills at all and still win if you play your cards right. Neither is about killing people. Arathi Basin might be better, my hopes aren't high and I haven't even logged in since it was released, much less played enough rounds to learn the game.

That's why I joined a penny arcade guild on the Penny Arcade server.
With 6+ Penny Arcade guilds that all play with each other (and several of them have reached the maximum amount of players allowed in a guild), finding groups and parties has never, ever been difficult (altho, I am still low level, but I don't think this will change).

What's spinebreaker mean? And, did they add battlegrounds into the game yet? I think the only way I would play would be to buy an account with a 60, use the 60 to farm items/cash, and just make tons of BG chars. That's what I was doing by the end at DAoC... it's fun to go running around with twinked out lowbies.
