and it will trace your IP and then put them on the googleearth globe.
which everyone in this thread can then checkout by shoving THIS into googleearth.
this will effectively put everyone who clicks the above link on a map of the world - only ppl who click it from this thread will show up.
edit: ah, i see i just popped up on it - "Gold Coast".
(using this: http://mazurka.osight.net/Dance.aspx)

well i'm off to bed.
have clicky fun with it while i'm gone eh .
seriously guys, just click it. this thread is the only way to access the info - via that KML file. you are giving the very same information to any website you visit - your IP address and browser etc.
the location lookup is done via another website, and is only as accurate as your ISP. (ie: with this ip address it thinks i live in the gold coast (i don't, i live in brisbane - so it was close), another time it thought i lived in melbourne - which is way off). a friend in adelaide it thought he lived in sydney.
it's generally accurate to your country however.

the CLICK HERE thing is supposed to be a blank page, it's a blank picture - only used to grab your IP (which is then automatically ran through http://hostip.info to get the approximate geographic location of your local ISP (which is assumed to be near you).
the KML file however that i linked above (that's working right?) is where the data goes to. it's used by googleearth to display the data.
try it out, you can see the approximate locations of the 8 ppl so far that have clicked the CLICK HERE (and the times they clicked it).
that's why i posted it!
i'm just guessing that:
the one outof Gent-Belgium is Tricord (who else here is uh... Belgish?).
the Edmonton-Canada one is Canuck.
and i know the Gold Coast - Australia one is me.
there is of course no way to know who's who. i was watching the "Currently browsing" list on the DBB for a little while to see if i could figure out who was who - but it didn't help too much.
