I have found that ancient legends from around the world are true. Some megaliths could have been set in place by as few as one man. I could build The Great Pyramid of Giza, using my techniques and primitive tools. On a twenty-five year construction schedule, (working forty hours per week at fifty weeks per year, using the input of myself to calculate) I would need a crew of 520 people to move blocks from the main quarry to the site and another 100 to move the blocks on site. For hoisting I need a crew of 120 (40 working and 80 rotating). My crew can raise 7000 lb. 100 ft. per minute. I have found the design of the pyramid is functional in itâ??s own construction. No external ramp is needed.

Good on you. I actually met someone the other day who spent quite some time doing an "Eric Von Daniken" on me. I was flabbergasted. It's a non-trivial insult to human ingenuity to even SUGGEST the pyramids aren't of entirely human origin.

It's a common mistake modern people make, to assume people living 5 and 10 thousand years ago were somehow dumber than we are now. Less educated than we are, maybe, but dumber? No. They were as smart, as curious and as inventive as we are - and they were capable of fantastic feats of engineering.

I salute them!

If you're at all interested, the pyramid makers only lived for about 100 years, beginning with Pharoah Sneferu, who built 2 prototypes, which failed (burial chambers partially collapsing), before finally settling on the first "modern" pyramid. His three sons then built the other great pyramids. This was a golden time in the history of Egypt, and in sucessive generations, their was no political will to build any more.

The Egyptians maintained their building programs however, constructing some of the most amazing temples and memorials ever seen - many of which survive in excellent shape today.

Question: what constructions of Man in the 20th and 21st centuries will still be recognisable in 4000 years from now? Concrete Dams are the only things I can think of which might last that long - but I doubt they will still be holding back full lakes of water in 6000 A.D.

you may be talking about the remnants of the mould that the concrete was poured into to set - it had to have a base beneath it so that the concrete dried with a smooth surface on all sides (incl the bottom).

also, it's easy enough to tip it over to put things under it by clasping a weighted counterleaver onto the top to make it top heavy, like he's done here:

Based on evidence as shown by Mobi's links and by others, we can see how man may have built the pyramids.
To date though, I have seen no evidence that a alien technology may have built them. Stones appear to be hand chisled, large town of human workers where the pyramids were being built. Anything of a alien tech. ever discovered?

As to things that will be around 4,000 years from now:

The Pyramids are frighteningly impressive when you're standing next to them, the large blocks at the base are friggin' massive. It's wasn't impressive enough though for me to consider aliens as the builders. What really got me thinking were the allignments to orion, the precession and wot not.

These ancient dudes were clever ancient dudes without a doubt. What interests me more than the piles of stones they left behind is how such a clearly advanced culture could collapse and self destruct. We could learn oodles more from their mistakes not their triumphs.
