I'm now officially a DJ for WLOY Baltimore (Loyola College Radio, 1620 AM). I have one 2-hour show per week, but the timeslot hasn't been determined yet. I'll be playing a mix of 70's rock through current alternative, with 3-song blocks roughly every half hour.
You can stream WLOY over the Internet as well. Instructions for WinAmp, iTunes, RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, and XMMS can all be found on that page.
By the way, if anyone's got some good suggestions for alternative/rock, I'd be more than happy to accept them. If you can, provide me with some sort of sample (link to band's website). If it's good, I'll talk to purchasing to get the CD. That's the benefit of college radio, I guess.
If you are doing 70's rock play "All the young dudes" by mott the hoople (David Bowie the writer).
They will think you are homosexual but not quite because mott the hoople were actually straight but the lyrics are very homosexual but they canâ??t pin that on you, you are just playing a track. Itâ??s the oldest trick in the book.
roid: No, it's strictly volunteer. Which I don't mind, since I really enjoy doing it.
I hit the air this Saturday from 1 to 3 pm. This week's show will be prerecorded, but starting next week I'll be going live. Do me a favor and tune in, and lemme know what you think I could be doing better.
Rumor has it we're getting Foo Fighters to play at Loyolapalooza this year (our annual spring festival). If that works out I'm going to try my damndest to get an interview going with them.
