sky: yeah, I can see it going from "microchip your pet" to "microchip your kid" with surprisingly little outcry. 'Cause, you know, child abduction is on the rise and all (or is it meth this year?).

They can already track your movements with pretty solid accuracy using credit cards/interac and stuff like that. Everytime you interface with the mainframe, you're on radar.

I think all new cell phones are to be GPS enabled in the USA by 2007. Not sure on the date can someone verify this?

Most, if not ALL cellular sites have a GPS system installed and can triangulate your location rather effectively. I've installed dozens of them. All you need is to be between 2 cells and they gotcha.

I have and never will own a cell phone for this reason. I saw it coming a million miles away.
