This is a funny puzzle
This is a funny puzzle
I try to make nice things and people agree i do. Now i've volunteered to so much junk I can hardly keep on top of things. Tonight im celebrating because i get to sleep for 6 hours! ... but i have 2 classes that im a week behind on and i have to give a new excuse to why im a screw up and explain my magnificent plan on getting "A's from now on!" I keep showing up late to work and i've gained a few pounds so i cant date who i like... I'm reaching for everything but it's all slipping out of my hands at the same time. Not killing your self must be some type of instinct, because death would be SOOOO EASY! A futuristic â??problem solving machineâ?

Are you familiar with Buddhism?
"THE FIRST NOBLE TRUTH
What is the Noble Truth of Suffering? Birth is suffering, aging is suffering, sickness is suffering, dissociation from the loved is suffering, not to get what one wants is suffering: in short the five categories affected by clinging are suffering."

The answer to too much responsibility is achievement, delegation or abdication, not self-negation. Prioritize, figure out what's important and focus on that in order of urgency. If you're doing people favors, put them last on the list.
Isaac, if the thought of self-murder sounds even marginally like a solution, you need to make changes, NOW. Seek professional help. An internet BB is not the place to be discussing this.

I merely presented the way most people handle stress in this type of situation by way of contrast.WarAdvocat wrote:The answer to too much responsibility is achievement, delegation or abdication, not self-negation. I think instead he should talk with a bunch of internet geeks who probably know psychology from the "inside" so to speak. That will definately get him out of the woods.
(edited! 2x cuz I'm good like that)

Isaac,
These guys are right. Re-inventing oneself, or just finding a way to get all the crap off your back, doesn't require anything so desperate.
When someone here says, "get some help", they're not saying, "you're a whack-ball, go see a psychiatrist". They generally mean, "find someone (a friend, a peer, anybody) who can help, either by just listening, or by getting personally involved". If it's serious enough, go see a professional (they keep everything confidential) - just see somebody.
And, good luck, man!

that was a really nice post... and sound advice.roid wrote:opt-out of all your responsibilities, as if you have died. then get on with a brand new life responsibility free.
you can even do this every day if you want to.
some ppl have difficulty with this concept - to leave behind your entire life. they feel it is wrong, that the only proper way to reinvent yourself is by death. but when you find yourself on a crossroad it can suddenly make a lot more sense - "does death really have to be a part of starting over? can't i skip the death part and just re-write my life at my whim in THIS life".
you sure can
from your post, it appears that your real problem is saying "no" to people or not meeting their expectations. And it is one of the hardest things to learn (i speak from experience). But face it, you're not perfect, nobody is. Somebody who forces you to act like you were perfect needs to learn that you're not.
So, like WarAdvocat said, prioritize. Scrap all the stuff that bogs you down, and is not important to you. If all of the things are important, you got to make a choice --- that's what life is about. You might hurt a few people in the process, but if they also care about you, they will understand.

A quick death is not dramatic. To shoot your self would be like flipping a light switch off. Doesnâ??t you think it would be a gentle experience? Itâ??s such an easy solution to every petty problem and the only reason we donâ??t just kill our selves must be some type of survival instinct. It might mean that if you can kill your self in a state of relaxation, you have overpowered that barrier and during the moment that bullet has left the camber, you are one of the most powerful people in the world. I would like to talk to psychologist someday soon. But I am worried about getting too drunk, because thatâ??s when I get really brave.

Hey man, to tell you the truth, I've been going through the same exact ★■◆●. I just went to a councilor who informed me that I'm most possibly suffering from a form of shizophrenia called "Waylans Infraction" and I need to talk to a real psychiatrist very soon.
But getting checked out in itself made me feel so so so much better, and you should too. You might have a chemical imbalance or a poor reaction to stuff that's happened to you in the past.
A week ago I felt like capping myself with my .357 but I decided to get things straight with my life. It's the hardest thing to turn around but once you do all you have to do is walk.
Stick in there man, I feel you.

You're making it sound as if killing your self is bad for you. It only hurts some people that know you but they will get over it after a month or two. Killing your self puts you in a state of immortal non existence. If you can kill your self your mind is advancing towards a greater power of nothingness which is actually, everything. If you think about it, SilverFJ. You can exit this world easier than you can exit your house. Btw.. nice gun.
Isaac, it seriously sounds like you need some professional help. Thinking along the lines of what you thought in your last post is not healthy. Talk to someone as soon as possible about what you're going through. Death is no kind of answer for life's problems. Do you really think that people would get over your death in a matter of months? If you've ever lost a loved one, you know that that sense of emptiness stays with you the rest of your life. Taking your own life would cause those close to you to undergo indescribable anguish and grief. Please, find some help. You can work through this.

How do you know what you enter upon death will be non-existant? If we knew the answer and if your assumtion was KNOWN to be true then people would be capping themselves much more than they already do, in fact, everyone would do it. One of the things that stopped me was whether religious beliefs in mind or not, it could be a form of "hell", you COULD still be concious. Nobody knows what happens after you die because the ones that know are dead. I don;t nessesarily believe in "God", but, 33barred% of logical thought says that death will be unpleasant for a short time or even eternity (33.3barred% pleasant, 33.3barred% unpleasant%, and 33.3barred% non-existant) Are you going to take that 1 in 3 chance of living in "hell" for eternity? I might not be making much sense because I'm very drunk (my current self inflicted medication/replacement for other problems) but I hope you get what I mean. You could cap yourself and theoretically be caught in you rown nightmares for the rest of your existance for all you know. Basically, think this: You DON'T know if death is a sweet, cooling relief or if it's a burning nightmarish hell. Don't risk it.Isaac wrote:Killing your self puts you in a state of immortal non existence.
