Hehe, cool.

My favorite "caught on tape" commericals are the Ratchet and Clank ones with the kids trying out the items. Wish I could find a video file of those...

hehe. It could be worse; a friend of my wife still refuses to lick the flaps on envelopes. She honestly thinks cockroach eggs will get into her tongue and hatch.

A good clue would be the meteorite landing on the hood of the truck and the truck emerging without a scratch, eh?

Or two other good reasons would be:

1) A meteor of that size would actually approach at around 40,000 - 70,000 clicks per hour. In other words, you don't get any warning, it's just a big explosion.

2) an object displaying a trail that big would cause an impact which would pulverise any human nearby, and leave a crater hundreds of feet across.

A friend of mine pointed out that it was fake because the cgi artists forgot to leave a smoking trail in the sky, where the meteorite passed thru.
