New NHL Season.
Do you like the new rules? I'm not sure I do. Way to many penalties being called I find. Not having the centre line helps I find but I don't like the shoot out part.
Mind you, Ottawa has won both it's shoot outs so far against Toronto which makes me happy.
So, what ya think?

Just glad to see that the NHL is finally back.
Personally like the fact of no more 2 line passes being called. Gives the NHL more "fast break" opportunities which will help make the game more exciting for us, the fans of hockey.
Too bad that the "rich" Owners and "rich" Players couldn't come to agreement last year to keep the game on the Ice instead of in the "News Media".

From the half of the game I've seen, I'm definitely going with yes on this one. The action seems much more wide open, with a lot more breakaways, and I really like the idea of no more ties (I also like the fact that the playoffs will remain with multiple overtimes; that 5-overtime game between the Flyers and Penguins a few years ago had to be one of the greatest ever ). There might be a few more penalites, but I think the players will get used to it in a little while, and you'll start to see them come down.
Edit: I do have one question for you: what purpose do the diagonal lines behind the goal serve?

No, as an avid hockey fan I do not like the new rules. I think a goal should be worked for as hard as it can be, I don't like seeing these 7 goal games. I like the physical part of it. It's what makes hockey the hardest sport to play. The two line and offside changes are good but I don't like the new interference being called so strict. Don't want to be impeded? Skate faster or hit harder@
