Internet windows not opening in own page?

i don't know what setting i changed but all of a sudden when i click a link that is supposed to open in its own window, it overrides the window i'm browsing and opens in it. gone thru the settings and can't seem to find where something changed or looks strange and tweakui doesn't seem to have anything either. anyone have some idears? using windows xp w/sp2.

What browser are you using? Install any programs recently?

Sounds like he's using IE.

If so...
1. From the Tools menu, select "Internet Options..." and in the resulting dialog box, click the "Advanced" tab.
2. Make sure "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" IS NOT check-marked.

That might help.

when did this problem start? If it just recently started go back to a Restore point previous to it - that SHOULD fix your issue.

From the Tools menu, select "Reset Web Settings..."
