Installation problem

I'm trying to install Desk Manager from Microsoft Powertoys.

I get the following message: Windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running safe mode or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed.

Any ideas?

Install or upgrade Windows Installer, hopefully that will fix the problem.

Running XP Home Version 2002 Service pk 2.

Seems they're are a couple of choices. Which Windows installer.

do you have the windows installer service set to disabled by chance?
