this has proved to be a fun thread on another forum i frequent, and we've all had fun in the past with the story threads.. so!

Here we go. Greatest forum game ever played. It starts out as a situation, to which people take turns on good news or bad news, and why. (In the event of a double post, the earliest one is the one that counts) Here's an example, beginning with a starting situation.

Charlie missed the bus today!

The good news is he has a ride.

The bad news is it's with his drunken father.

The good news is he is sober this morning.

The bad news is he also has palsy, and awful motor skills.

The good news is that he got to school fine.

I'll start it all off, with good news.
