The layerd vocals you're talking about are harmonies. I actually enjoy singing harmony vocals more than the lead vocals.

you ever heard of matt mahafey (self)? youre voc sound and chord progressions resemble some of his stuff.

I haven't but I'll take a listen.

The chord progression for this has some oddly structured chords, but they work well. Sorta jazzy sounding IMO.

My lead guitarist wrote this one completely and then I wrote the lyrics. We don't normally write like that, but LMU came out pretty good. My only gripe about it is it almost sounds too polished? But maybe that because I've listened to too many times while mixing
