Well, after a bit of cleaning and reorganization...
I narrowed down my total number of desktop icons from about 384 to 13.
My old monitor died, leaving me whimpering along on a 15-inch flatpanel that only supports 1024x768 screen resolution. Being used to 1600x1200+, this was, needless to say, a drastic shock. However, it finally spurred me to clean my desktop and create a nice background for it. Here's the result:

I have the original .pspimage document available, allowing me to change the background images at will and update my desktop easily and quickly. The original size is 1600x1200, so when I get back onto a respectable monitor size, it will still fit nicely. What do yall think?

HEH, I only have one icon. anyone know how to get rid of the recycle bin?
clean as can be
clean as can be
atm i have 51 icons on the desktop, coz i use my desktop like any desktop - it gradually gets filled with segments of work projects.
but every now and again i clean it up and put all of the unneeded stuff in a folder i keep on my desktop (kinda like a bottomless desk drawer) - just to keep my desktop clean, then i end up with around 13 or so icons left on the desktop.

Right click on the desktop ---> Arrange Icons By ---> uncheck Show Desktop Icons. Poof, no recycle bin (or anything else for that matter)Darkside Heartless wrote:HEH, I only have one icon. anyone know how to get rid of the recycle bin?

If I were you I would change the icon to suit your wallpaper....never know when you may wanna dig around in the trash also you should tuck it down in that corner so the words are under the task bar...gives a neater appearance
My whole theme was kind of a contrast of time periods... Old (rough wood frame), New (ship, will probably be changed once I find a better picture), and Theoretical (nice abstract art, courtesy of TCO-Crusher).Kind of mimics my interests--I'm a history geek, I'm always digging around in modern mechanical objects, and I like dabbling around in theoretical science--atomic theory, stuff like that. I've just discovered this fascinating field this year in school, but it's really extremely interesting. I wonder why no one ever bothers to explain Einstein's theories before 11th grade? It's not all THAT hard to grasp..will_kill wrote:Oh..nice looking job there Stryker...hmmm, I just don't get the wood tho'...seems,ummm...archaic?

I usually try to keep my desktop on my gaming box completely devoid if icons. This box here at work is a different story. Current count is uhh...51. It's usually less, but I've got a lot of projects rolling at the moment.
