Dragon Quest VIII, Wild Arms: ACF, Final Fantasy XII Demo

Post by JMEaT »

Anyone else pick up DQ8? Love the game, the music really takes ya back to the old NES days of gaming. Voice acting is great, graphics are very nice. Haven't had a chance to play more than 30 mins or so.

The game comes with a demo for FFXII. I'm not really sure what to think of it. Combat is MMORPG style but menu driven. Hit attack when in swinging range of an enemy and wait for the character to swing after a delay. The computer controls the other 2 party members. So far I'm not really impressed. I'm all for new ideas and such but it just doesn't feel like FF...

Also picked up WIld Arms: Alter Code F. Haven't opened that one yet.

...Need... more... free time. :o

Its always been that way, Akira Toriyama started artwork on DW before Dragonball.

I just bought it today... It's alright, seems kinda kiddy though. You're right though, the music screams of nostalgia. Especially the monster-miss tune. I'm only in to it about 45 minutes though... so it's hard to tell how good it is.

It reminds me of Ephemeral Phantasia... A game about 5 people (including myself) in the world knew about... one of the first RPG's for the PS2. Excellent game, just not very easy to figure out.
