NFS: Most Wanted

Post by []V[]essenjah »

Just played a demo of NFS: Most Wanted.

Looks like an interesting game and the cops are absolutly ruthless. I was wondering, how is the story mode in this one? I didn't notice any replay mode in the demo? Do they have a replay mode? Also, I noticed that they at least have some decent rides in this one and it isn't quite as riced up as the others. There are cars from Porche and I know that there is Mustang GT in the demo. I also noticed that you have weather in this one. I still wish they would bring back damage and split screen mode though. :

I do hear that it has decent on-line play. At least it was claiming to have improved this problem.

i am curious about this too. i started playing back in nfs 2, which i thought was pretty tight, one of the first 'real' racing games i ever played. followed the series up into iv. i played the demo of nfs underground, thought it was ok, but a bit of a departure for me. i hate porche, so never really got into the nfs porsche one (which appeared to me to be merely the unmodified engine from 4 with porscheseses)

it sounds like they did a lot of work for this one, so i am curious enough, when i find the time to really look at it i might try out the demo myself.

didnt the old ones have weather?

I've tried the demo, have full but not installed. The demo didn't impress me much other than it seems the physics have gone back tot he NFS PU days. I'm getting tired fo the dark (can't see a thing) tracks and the flashy grahics that make it impossible to find the road.

X2.

5 Minutes after the demo was installed, it got uninstalled. :P No really its not even like the old NFS games, back when the used to be really good up until after Hot Pursuit or whatever the 4th one was. The Mustang looked terrible when it was riced up in game. I also would have liked to see a return of the interior view to see the dashboard.

may i ask then... why did you get the full version. (assuming that you couldn't possibly have shelled out the cash for a game you aren't impressed with...)

Because the demo doesn't always show the potential of the full game. And no, I didn't shell out the cash for it until I'm 100% sure I want it or it's called Descent 4, Diablo 3, Neverwinter Nights 2, Mechwarrior 5, GTR2, GTL 2, IL2 Sturmovik 300, Half Life 3 and a few more.

isn't that just the sad truth. developers really don't understand this well enough yet, although i have noticed in recent years more of the full version 1-4 hour demo type thing, which at least has everthing open to try, but only for a very short time.

not trying to offend ya, just wondering why you had it if you didn't like the demo, but you are right, you gotta give a title from the nfs series a shot.

I never give the demo more than 20 min of play. If I don't like the demo than there's a big change I won't like the full but with the full I tend to give it more time.

If you have a NFS thing you could just play the real life version.

In real life, you don't have a reset button.

Yes, but you get to really feel the game. All those G-forces, the adrenalin, the flashing lights and the foot chase. It's like you're really there.

Well, until I can afford a Porsche 911 and be able to take it to a race track, I won't be doing some NFS in real life.

I don't want a ticket for doing 240KPH in a 50KPH zone.

Actually, if you go and play the NFS:MW demo everyday and still enjoy it a few days later, you'll probably like the full game. I got the full game on the PS2 and it mimicks how I felt about the demo - inconsistent physics and cop chases that make a great first impression, but get old and obnoxious after a while.
