What the point of these fake IP programs. I understand it hides your real IP address and generates a fake one. But at the same time it opens up hidden/closed ports that can be view on the other side. How is this protecting your PC?

the point is not to protect your PC, but to cover your tracks thru the web.

I think he is talking about NAT routers, which would mean he is running under the false impression there is such a device that will allow you to have a "Anonymous IP". Thats just my "WTF @" translation though.

Actually I was taking about software proxy. But that doesn?t matter any more since I learned how they work. Slowed down my connection a great deal on top of it. Thanks away.
