This case was the guy in Florida, a man here in Chicago just got aquitted as well. Two trials, two aquittals. Ashcroft hailed the Florida guy as being some sort of mastermind...now he's innocent. Bad prosecutors, or racial profiling? Me, bad act.
Un-Patriot Act...

I gotta admit, from a quick look these guys certainly smell suspicous. BUT, it's not IMPOSSIBLE that they could be innocent. There ARE legitimate charities in Palestine. They have hungry orphans just like anywhere else.CDN_Merlin wrote:How can it be a charitable cause? It's terrorism for crying out loud.

Yes, but what about the Patriot Act. All these expanded powers and nothing, Patriot Act has nothing to do with good surveillance abroad and terror detection...it's for spying on Americans that might be sympathetic to other causes. A Palestinian can hate Jews and live in America...but we've lost a lot due to this act and it doesn't work...

Sometimes even evidence isn't enough...*cough*O.J.*cough*Ferno wrote:could it be due to... lack of evidence? *gasp*
Zuruck, are you sure these two cases are the only time the Patriot Act has been put to use? Because that's what it sounds like you're implying by saying : "All these expanded powers and nothing..."
