I removed a bunch of them before sending the script to Topher over a year ago, simply because I felt it was rather silly to have multiple versions for stuff like :P. If you want to add a smiley, click on the smilies on the left side of the post form. It'll insert the smiley into your post automatically.

I don't see a reason why. Ppl can be expected to know the difference betw. upper & lower case characters IMHO..

when i type a post, i let go of my mouse and solely just use the keyboard. Until i grab the mouse again to press SUBMIT. Everything i put in i put in, i type. It'd be annoying always using the mouse to "click" emoticons into your post because they always appear at the end of the post, do you actually click them? I write my posts all over the place, goign back and forward, adding things in the middle, the start, correcting things, rewording things, before i'm ready to hit SUBMIT. So clicking the emoticons is mostly useless to me, as they appear at the end of the post. I run into the same issue when going back to edit a post.

it just bothered me that  doesn't work, because that's how i always used to trigger the emoticon in the past. I'll relearn it.

It's really not an issue to make the code accept that. Like I said I will look into it. BUT you will probally have to remind me to add it again in the future ;)

Yeah, I need the phpTeaMakerMod... my tea won't brew itself.

And phpTakeComSciFinalMod would be nice, but I don't know if you can get it installed by tomorrow. :P

You shouldn't need to edit the code, you can add smilies from the control panel.

Actually it would make more sense to have different smileys for "lol" and "LOL", like  and  eg.. ;)

But what happens if you spell it backwards? We might have a few dyslexia people here.

Just hacking it to case insensitive would be a better idea, cuz otherwise lol LOL Lol lOl loL LOl lOL LoL would all have to be put into the smiles if you wanted to be totally complete. :P

roid, if you think thats bad, try getting used to posting on multiple boards that run different scripts that each have their own different calls for emoticons. Ranges from :L: to  to .

Don't get me wrong roid, I do see where you're coming from. At the time, I just didn't see the point of having multiple database entries for the same emoticon.
