bitched and complained, I sent them logs of what I was seeing, I also sent them a link to the SLOWER thread

Matter of fact the technician said that I couldn't speak to him that way that he was going to elevate my tech support call to his manager, well I never heard anything but I have noticed a measureable improvement in the server.

yeah ... there have been a few hitches... but nothing like it has been. cross the fingers... i would still suggest talking about another 'move', since god knows a bandage is only a bandage, and it can be torn from ya at any moment.

The site has a tendency to stall when first accessing it, but then it's pretty much smooth sailing. Must be their load balancer or something. At first I thought it was the portal page (lots of DB queries or something) but even when I go straight to the forums I notice the difference.

Eh, at least it doesn't time out while I'm browsing the forums anymore.

I would agree, historically speaking though share environments tend to get clunky. But if we can maintain this level it really doesn't make sense to move. Either way I think it's a good idea to build and evacuation route prior to actually needing it.

So if we get the ground work layed out that in the event thingfs turn south here we won't have to cover new ground.

We are paid up for 11 months

ran into some real brutal (read: OMG OMG OMG OMG JUST POST FOR CHRISSSSSSSAKES!!!) slowdowns this morning, but I think it was around the time you were moving the ANNOUNCEMENT stuff around, so that may be why.

in your case you might want to think of that as therapy. It's a good thing the DBB didn't go down for too long, coz flooding therapy doesn't work as well as gradual exposure and CBT

Not really slow today, just sometimes it works just fine, and the rest of the time it doesn't work at all.

So you have to post quickly while it still works.

yeah i keep getting the fly into the the forum, slip quickly into the thread, catch up on the banter, hop into the reply, type quick, and submit, then i go to work and come home in time to see it move from the after post back to the thread.

Today it totally stopped. Then after 10-15 minutes it picked up again.
