Re:
To be specific, for some reason the board expects a rank image to be there. There isn't one, yet its calling for one, hense the broken image. The reason you see rank titles twice is because the rank title is the alt text.KoolBear wrote:This issue is related to the user title mod and rankimagesRobo wrote:Double-occuring member titles in some places.
btw, I ran into the exact same error msg making this post.

The image used to allow you to link to specific posts is gone. It looks like the image next to the \"add image to post\" link, only its pure white and doesn't have an arrow. However, it renders in the \"Topic review\" when you make a reply to a post, and its a light blue instead of white..

The old familiar smilies are gone, replaced with the crap default PHPBB smilies. Also, the spoiler tag doesnt work anymore. http://dbb.vonclan.net/viewtopic.php?t=8937

We will look in to this but might be related to the DNS update.TigerRaptorFX wrote:I don’t know if you can consider this a bug. But when I click the DBB Community banner I automatically get signed off.
What did you do to get the SMTP error? I need to reproduce it.TigerRaptorFX wrote: Also I'm getting this as well,

right now when i click the banner it takes me back to the page i was in... it won't autolog me in... and there are no blue orby thingys telling me where i've posted...
the smtp thing seems fine now... and the avatar 'double ranking' thing still there.
umm linux... firefox 1.5 and everywhere.
clicking staff site just reloads the page... instead of giving me the list...
BUT IT IS SMOKING FAST!!!

FYI - We do have an alternate DBB setup where were are working on upagrading the phpbb scripts.
Some how we found our self forcfully and painfully upgraded to the latest version of phpbb in this move.
We are working on resolving implementing MOD's and fixing issues The MOD's I installed I have these listed and in the process of re-installed. The MOD's Topher had implemented I am clueless and he can't touch open source code. Topher drop me a list of the mods you implemented please.
DBB'rs your patience is appreciated.

There are no MODs as far as I recall because we didn't want to go through the \"upgrade hell\" like we did with the UBB like we're going through now. There were a few tweaks I made to get the visual stuff right, they should all be labeled \"Topher\" in the original source. The phpbb board I got from MD and everyone else when we upgraded to phpbb may have some mods or changes in it, but that I'm not sure of.
Upgrade to what latest? 2.0.18? There were hardley any changes between 2.0.13 and 2.0.18 that I hadn't already done, issues you're seeing now are all related to configuration or mods you installed.
My suggestion is to nix the mods you've installed, copy the board in it's mixed 2.0.13 state and then apply any other small lines of code to 2.0.18 that we still need and be done. MODs are nice, but pretty much unnecessary and just eye candy instead of usefulness.
I'll make a request to our legal department and see if I can get permission to continue working on the DBB.

That's exactly what I would have done too Topher.
But it wasn't an option, I had to rely on someone else as I didn't have backend access.
What we have is an agglomeration of our old files sitting in a 2.18 installation.
I'm not sure what version you started with but it wasn't a clean install of phpbb.
I realize some of these issues are related to RC using some files I gave him for testing a few weeks ago, that is why I am fighting the few mods I installed. Had it not been for RC's relentless effort at over comming the mssql issues I would have reverted to the old board.
There are several things mentions soecial bbcodes blue orb icons and other what nots that weren't related to ANY mod I did.

I guess If I were the dictator everone makes me out to be I would pull the plug on this move.

Right, the blue orb thing is a mod I wrote. It should be labeled between comments with \"Topher\" in them in the original board.
How long will the old server be up? We should use that board until some of the show stopper issues here are fixed.
We can't just copy the scripts from the old server to this one? I did this when we were doing the other move about a month ago and it wasn't all that tough.
What SQL problems are there? If you do a clean install of 2.0.18, copy the data from the old server database to the new one and copy the scripts, the board should behave more or less like it did a month ago.

Toper,
That was my plan, but that's not what took place sadly.
I had learned an enormous amout of information during that last move. Sadly I didn't get to apply any of that experience.
I have that host paid for another 11 months The DBB is still there waiting patiently for us to return should we desire to. I know I sure didn't want to turn on this hobbled site. Another sign of the dictator I really am
I had planned on firing up 360degreebb.net there once the move is complete.
All this being said I am greatly appreciative of the effortrs RC has put into getting this move to the point that it is. Thanks RC!

Re:
I'm sure the having to log in each time will clear up as soon as the DNS change is done and we quit messing with things... [me]crossing fingers[/me]WarAdvocat wrote:looking better each time I log in.
That said, something is wrong, in that I have to log in each time I visit. Sometimes I get logged out mid-session as well, and have to re-login.
As soon as we get things right I'll be hands off and let the admin and mods take it.

This is a cookie issue, you will mostly contiue to receive this problem until we the DNS transfered.WarAdvocat wrote:looking better each time I log in.

Also I haven't looked but I am not sure I changed the config settings so it's possible the old cookie is causing problems. I have a nice little utility that users can use to clear thier DBB cookies, I will add it to the list of things that need done.
The list to go back where we came from is extremely short conpared to trying to stay with this configuration.
