Anyone know of any internet speed tests that aren't JAVA based :?:

Yep. Upload a 1MB file. Time it. Download the same file. Time that too. Do the math. Add10-15% for network overhead.

Voila.

If you have a fast connection, make it a 10MB or 100MB file.

Of course, this all really depends on how much traffic that server is getting. If its getting hammered, it'll affect your results drastically. Don't just use one server and assume thats all you get. Test multiple ones.

OK, then do it several times - at different times of the day. Try it on one of your ISPs servers if possible - or just DL a big file from your ISP.

Generally though, you want to use the tools at www.dslreports.com -- Java is a great tool, so go ahead and install it!
