I've often wondered this myself...perhaps at the end of the rainbow.

You can also export them to a file in the bookmark manager. This is what i do.

I use the \"Bookmark backup\" extension. And it saves bookmarks on-exit. Thus I have many bookmarks files extending back, weekly, for about a year.

Losing them would be disastrous.

Thanks Krom but I expected to have a Favorites folder with bookmark files (.lnk). I also expected to find a Links folder ... the one that corresponds to the IE Links Bar. That is ultimately what I am trying to do ...

I am trying to migrate from IE to Firefox permanently and in doing so I want to be able to have the same Links bar with the same URLs assigned to the buttons. I want to do this without having to create and rename every single danged link.

Maybe someone knows how to do that?

Here is my IE Links Bar :

In firefox, the links bar is called the bookmarks toolbar folder. Just import your favorites into FF. It should do it all.

Bookmarks - Manage Bookmarks - Import - Internet Explorer.

Sorry, I had assumed importing Internet Explorer favorites was a no brainer in Firefox, I stand corrected. ;) :P

FYI, Firefox gives you this prompt when you first actually launch it. You have the choice to import from IE, or from a file.

i love that the bookmarks are all in one html file.
put a shortcut somewhere to that file and you will be able to easily search through your bookmarks from within firefox. it also makes it easy to document your bookmarks onto a webpage, just cut-paste the html - you'll have your folder's indentationed and everything.
