My monitor cable is about 8\" short.
I have an old gold svga exntension cable but when I use it the picture/visual on my 2nd monitor is fuzzy/hazy.
There's a note on the box of the extension cable that says the company offers high integrity monitor cables for 19\"+ sized monitors.
So I'm wondering if this old cable isnt able to handle the signal? Are cables designated for each size monitor?
Do I need a special cable for this 21\" CRT monitor (or do they even exist?
thanks!

You don't need a certain type of cable for diff size monitors, just for bigger monitors you need a higher quality cable.
When using an extension cable on a visual device you always buy the best cable you can get since you are already pushing it by using more cabling and more points of connection.

what is a KVM switch?
Mobius: yeah, I pulled the monitor closer to me and angled it. I can see it better now, but I have almost no deskspace so I'm not sure if this is a solution or not. At least for now it works, and I'm getting very used to having the extra monitor
All of you were correct: having another monitor rocks!
