so uh, where's the 1.4 patch?

I just got a new computer like... last month or so... and I finally installed D3 for the first time (it didn't like any of my previous systems.) Unfortunately, autoupdate isn't connecting to the patch server, and outrage.com doesn't appear to function any more. So, where can I get the current patch?

hrm... I try to run the patch, and it's like "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." (with respect to Descent3.exe)

piece of junk...

edit: LOL... the Aussie patch worked... who the heck sent me aussie D3?

WOW! Of all people to not know the story...

There was a mishap in distribution. At the very beginning, a lot of US stores got the Austrailian copy of the game.

This same thing happened to me. My original D3 disks were all scratched up, so I bought another set online. After beating my head against the wall trying to patch it, I ended up finding out it was the Aussie version.

I never could understand... what the hell is so different between the US and Aussie versions? Do CD's spin backwards down unda?

Lothar. You need to install patch 1.1, 1.2,1.3 then 1.4

If you install mercenary, I think you can start with 1.3 then 1.4

That's not true, Duper. I've upgraded to 1.4 straight from 1.0 on several occasions, and I've never experienced any problems. As for Mercenary, I believe that it automatically installed the 1.3 patch, so it's best to install Mercenary and then upgrade to 1.4. Otherwise, you'll end up installing an older patch over a newer one.
