Hi everyone, I am using D1x.142 to play Descent on my comp. The problem is that it won't play the music, about 10 seconds into a level the music cuts out.
I fixed this by downloading the music files from Planet Descent, and playing them in winamp as I played the game. There are two versions of the music available, as some of you may know, the more digital version, and the more complex version. The digital version are mp3 files while the complex version is mid.
Now for a while both of these versions were working fine. but lately the mid files have quit working on me. They work fine normally but when I start the game up they quit playing when the in game music does! This perplexes me.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? is there a way to convert mid to mp3? Would command lineing -nomusic help (I tryed this, but maybe I did it wrong). Is there somewhere to get these files in a differnt format?
Go into control panel ---> Sounds and Audio Devices ---> Audio tab. Change the default MIDI music playback device to \"Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth\". See if that helps.
NP, just out of curiosity, what is your sound card? I had the same issue and I am using the onboard nvidia soundstorm / dolby digital 5.1 optical SP-DIF on my NF2 motherboard.
