I'm not sure you can/will use this idea in CD. If not, it'd be a good feature to use in CD2. ;)

Could there be a way to assign a different primary weapon to a set of gunpoints?

Let's say a player ship has 4 gunpoints. He could assign two gunpoints (the higher ones) to fire one weapon, then the other two gunpoints (the lower ones) to fire another.

Using D3 weapons by way of example, a player can have to two inner gunpoints on his ship assigned to fire Mass Drivers, while the two outer gunpoints would fire plasma. If he so chose, he could set the gunpoints to:

A: Fire for ONLY one of the gunpoint sets until the player switches to the other set,

B: Alternate firing with each pull of the trigger,

C: Or fire all four gunpoints at once.

That would spice up gameplay a bit, don't ya think?

Note that secondaries are excluded from this idea. That'd just be unfair.:P
