I'm afraid I haven’t been interested in a laptop in quite some time and I’m not up on all the latest trends.
She’s not a gamer. She wants to use MS Office extensively. She would like to occasionally play a DVD movie. She wants WIFI so she can work anywhere in the house. She wants lightweight. She wants it to be durable and not have to worry about annoying dead pixels.
I would like to hear both good and bad experiences with different brands so I know what brands to avoid or what brands may be good ones.
Sister in law looking to buy a laptop.

I built this one: Gigabyte N512. You can save some money this way, and get the parts you like...
Otherwise: another vote for Tosh' and HP (Sheeit - did I just say \"HP\"?)
Try the \"DV\" range from HP: light, small and fast. No graphics to speak of. Nice form factor. Mini JBL speakers actually sound good!
