Till I saw the pricetag I was about to bring it up with the station manager... wow.

Still, kickass tech. Hopefully it automatically finds tracks; would be great to run in a radio station. Mellow vinyl sound + quick track selection = smooth operation.

We have a McIntosh cd/dvd player at work, and the remote lacks an eject button.

When I turned 33, (and that was quite a long time ago), I was teaching a bunch of teenagers in a Sabbath School class at church. They were asking when I was going to have a birthday party. I said, \"Nah, not AT my birthday, I'm going to wait 4 months and then throw a 33 and 1/3 birthday party!\"

I got blank stares.

I said, \"You know, like 33 1/3 rpms?\"

blank stares.

\"record speed?\"

Someone finally asked, \"Like guinesses book of world records?\"

I said, \"Never mind...\"

Heh, I still buy and listen to them. Sound quality is far warmer on an analog device than a CD...good stuff to smoke a joint to.

If you want \"warm\" sound from a CD player, you could always run it though a bandpass filter followed by mild harmonic distortion. A good all-tube guitar amp should do it. Or I think there's software that specifically imitates the distortions of vinyl records, if you're too used to that.
