Softball, aluminum or wooden bat?

As it is softball season and I am playing for the local singles ward, I need to get a bat for my personal practice. I would also prefer to have it be a good enough bat to play a game with.

Anyway, my folks keep telling me to use a regular wooden bat. It is what I have been mostly trained with at home, while my friends keep telling me to use an aluminum bat, which is what I mostly use during official practices and actual games. I hear that wooden bats get more power from my parents but I'm really not certain. Anyway, what are some recommendations from the DBB?

The \"Sweetspot\" in a wooden bat is larger. Don't know why.

I play with aluminum bats. I like the quick swings.

You also want to check the rules of the division you are in. We were unable to use wooden bats. If you can swing a 30w/34in aluminum, you should have no problem getting the same effect, as for me I like quick swings with more accuracy with a bit of punch so I use a 28w/34in.
