LCD Monitors
LCD Monitors
Hi,
Have there been any advancements in LCD monitors in the last few months? It's about time I upgrade my monitor and was wondering what I should get. I was thinking on getting an lcd but I can't find one with comparable resolution to size ratio that my current crt has, 18”Viewable(1600x1200). I have seen really high res lcds on laptops but I can't find them for desktop monitors...
Any tips would be great. Thanks.

I have a samsung syncmaster 204b panel and a 19\" CRT here, generally the LCD makes my CRT look bad, unless both are showing an all black screen or anything that is very dark, then the CRT makes the LCD look horrible. And the CRT is naturally better for gaming. In normal windows/web surfing/sharpness/etc the LCD is clearly superior, in anything requiring a real black level or high speed, the CRT is visibly better.
Thanks for the suggestions. I like the stylish look of the Dell one.
My bigest complaints with LCDs are they look grainy and they blurr a lot when you move your mouse or scroll text in a window.
My current monitor is a dell trinitron. It is 18\"viewable(1600x1200). Now the LCDs you mentioned are 20.1\"viewble with only 1680x1050 resolution...
My dad's laptop has a 15\"(1920x1200) monitor. The best one I have seen. It is so sharp and the contrast is good. Only complaint I have is it blurrs a bit more then other lcds I think.
Even the PSP has a pretty sweet monitor.
