Yes master, I did that. That's why I asked what it was/when it happened. I have since found out (sort of) when/why. Sucks to hear.

As for the upgrade, I had something similar in mind but I was thinking about getting a faster vid card (7900gt) and a slower processor (3500+). I figured the faster card would be more useful right now. Plus, it's a lot more card for $75 more.
