Rescue disk for Gateway laptop

A friend has a laptop thats about 18 months old and had a HD crash.

He can't find his rescue disk.

Anyone know what the Gateway policy is on getting a CD?

I'll have to call them and find out what happens if your HD crashes. Thanks for the info.

I have the laptop now. It is a Gateway 7415GX.

I get an error message that says System32\\Drivers\\NTFS.sys is missing or corrupt.

They didn't get a recovery disk. From what I understand it was on the HD partition.

That's funny, I was working on a Toshiba today with that same error. I tried this with no success.
