cheap 3D laser finger tracking

This thing seems like it could really go places. It laser tracks & paints multiple objects (like fingers) in 3d space without you needing to wear a glove or anything. Also because it's so simple they say that it could be really cheap. CHEAP IS GOOD!

You could just walk upto a computer and navigate it in 3D without touching anything. One thing i'm thinkin it could be used for is Coputer aided surgical techniques - the sugeon could navigate a 3D computer operating environment without having to touch anything - germs are everywhere and you must wash your hands 30 times a day with battery acid or they're gonna getcha

Man I'm really interested in that. That stuff could speed up video game development like crazy.

im wondering more about stuff like 3d modeling. I wonder if it would make something like modeling in mudbox better.
