new toy
Out of gathering information and much thinking, I have ordered directly from the Saitek online store a Saitek Cyborg Evo as of this past Monday.
I got the peripheral from the Saitek store rather than Newegg mainly because it was cheaper in total by about $3. Sure it seems a small amount, but every bit counts. It arrives at my doorstep Tuesday and I am eagerly awaiting it.
Before then I have been flying keyboard only for 8 years, and am not bad with it. I know that a joystick will be a useful addition to my computer seeing as how Descent isn't the only flight game I play.

I've owned and played with all of the following sticks:
-MS Sidewinder 3D Pro (my first stick... learned Descent on this)
-MS Sidewinder Precision Pro (Gameport version, so I had to buy a crappy sound card to get the port)
-Saitek Cyborg Evo (I've had two of these, both of which were good sticks, but had the trigger break)
But by far the best stick I've played with is my current one:
-MS Sidewinder Precision Pro (USB)

I have Saitek X52 Flight Control System USB. It is really greatest control for Descent series, FreeSpace series, and Combat Flight Simulator series.
I have old Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, it not works with Win XP... I keep it for history.
And Sidewinder Precision Racing Wheel too, I don't control it much. Because I tried to look for a game. Mmm I idea, I named a game \"Microsoft Drive Simulator\" real like Flight Simulator.

Only until you hit the hardware DZ. The x52's have a wide range of tolerance from stick to stick.zbriggs wrote:We use X45s and X52 for alot of what we do.
