EDIT: Placed in E&C, although it is more of humor, it has ethics and stuff written on it too.

Soon to be replaced by koranic verses (since images of human beings are haram in islam.)

I'm going to take a wild guess and speculate that British money in other amounts (5 pounds, 20, etc.) have other influential British figures on the back. So this probably isn't that special.

But having a picture of Darwin on the back isn't the same thing as saying \"In Darwin We Trust!!\" And that wouldn't make much sense in America either, since Darwin was British. And finally, wouldn't saying \"In Darwin We Trust\" make evolutionism sound like a *religion*? Which it isn't supposed to be?

Either way, it doesn't bother me much. It's a bit funny, though.

He thinks he's making fun of america for having a reference of god on the currency but he's chattel, a subject, living at the mercy of a royal family!

He's got that fricken dufus Prince Charles and the whole inbred royal family, and not just pictures of them on the currency but in the flesh that he and all his fellow subjects have to pay for daily!

So when it comes to hanging on to tradition and symbols I think were quite evolved in a Darwinian fashion. Quite reserved and understated in fact compared to bowing to the crown wearing, castle dwelling inbred dork family surrounded by powdered wig wearing aristocrats that ponytail boy and his fellow subjects should be embarrased about!
:)

PS: God isn't american, he's a Brit. His name is Clapton ;)

The clever thing though Will, is getting Kazzillions of Americans to part with their hard earned dollars whilst taking piccies of these inbreds!!

No. He was pointing out that it's the opposite of "In God we trust".

I'd disagree there. I thought he was pointing out that America and British currency say the opposite things, with a neutral attitude.

A sense of humor and a proclivity to be the class clown.

It was just humor mixed with some harmless nationalistic pride.
It's not like I made all the kids wear brown pajama's and learn to goose step and salute me and my silly mustache while I marched an army across europe burning the jews!

I do think it's a bit stupid for him to make a video where he proclaims americans won't like it very much that he points out the english have the picture of Darwin on their money. He didn't have a "nuetral attitude"! He was being a jerk, so I offered a bit of the old 'he who lives in glass houses' scolding.
There are lots of ways people try to honor that which is important to them by displaying a symbol and I doubt the people who decided to put that motto on the american currency did it because they wanted to provoke or insult anyone.
Can you say the same of the motive for the ponytail guy to make his video?

I give that videogood points for trolling.

But I definitely WOULD like to see what would happen if a powerful lobby group wanted to put Darwin on the face of the US $10 bill. I bet the fundies in the US would have an absolute sh!7-fit! The rate of myocardial infarction would probably quintuple overnight. :P

Well of course, especially since Darwin isn't even an american, anyone, not just religious fundies, would have to ask "Why?"
Rejecting trolls is an open field secular sport here in the states!

Look at it this way, at least the americans put a humbling reminder on the money. A benevolent father figure who supposedly answers the call of the downtrodden and suffering with rewards of everlasting peace.

The Brits put on their currency the next in line of the self imposed monarch, decendant of the global dominating, imperialistic, territory gobbling elite who brought us to the Tower dungeon if we dared to wimper in his presence!!

And in america we have laws that say you may worship god if you choose but you don't have to even think twice about him if you don't want to.
none of that bowing and scraping crap that the serfs have to perform in the presence of the Queen. ;)

Heh! Tell the Queen mum I got her John Hancock swinging in the breeze over here!

I just find it funny as it is almost the opposite of what we have over here.

I don't see how this is \"opposite\" at all. Britain puts images of influential historical figures (and, in the case of the queen, important current ones) on their money. Last time I checked, so do we...or do Franklin, Hamilton, Washington, Grant, Sacajawea, Jefferson, Kennedy, and Lincoln somehow not fall under that category? What's more, last time I checked, Britain's national anthem is \"God Save the King/Queen;\" while I'm on that checking, the first verse, at least, of \"The Star-Spangled Banner\" doesn't say much about God.

In other words, this video pretty much fails at life. Trying to get uber-fundamentalist Christians riled up by mentioning Darwinism...*yawn*. Try something original, buddy.

It's not that bad. :P

Seriously though, it collapses quickly, particularily when healthcare is completely publicly funded. It was alright at first, but then things like MRIs came into existence, and the costs have been skyrocketing since.
