In search of Drivers

Hey folks.

Looking for some Vortex Drivers.

More specifically, 8810a1 / SQ1500 (same thing, two different model ID names.. i have NO idea why)

Operating system XP Pro.

That's the tough part. There are lots of drivers for older systems and \"Vortexofsound.com\" is gone.

I've spent several hours looking around the net and had \"some\" success on driverguide.com but these are not exactly reliable. The packages always seem to be missing a critical file or two. It seems an .inf file is missing.

I found some that \"kinda work\" but cave in very short order.

Merlin gave me a hand on Kalil. I think the issue is solved. But it looks like the drivers are still having trouble. In heavy handed apps like the newer games the sounds still crashes. Trying different settings and such, but i looks like I'll b e forced back to my old SB Live 5.1 (I refuse to use the exclamation point with that title..I'm just not THAT excited about it.

Try reducing the sound acceleration in Windows.

I wouldn't bet money on being able to download drivers directly from any of the instances, but perhaps you can find some links or other useful information.
