I have downloaded of Descent patch v1.0 to v1.5 from GameSpot. But it have fail to upgrade. Its README won't open.

Please help me. Thanks.

you need the 1.4 patch, then the 1.5 but the 1.5 was never publicly released and dount anyone uses it

The Version 1.0-to-1.4a patch is available here:

The Version 1.4a-to-1.5 patch is available here:

The specific problem with the Version 1.0-1.5 patch is that it installs a bogus version of the DESCENT.SNG file in the DESCENT.HOG archive. As a result, you get no music on levels after Level 7. You can get more information than you probably want via this link:

U know Interplay is gone. And there URL are gone too. I found them in PD. But are too many patch to find one. What name I find one?

You can get any patch you need at PlanetDescent.com

akula65 is correct. You patch from 1.0 to 1.4a Then from 1.4a to 5.0 There was once a bug that went from 1.4 to 1.5 but it was very VERY buggy.

1.5 had something like a single sound patch for a now extinct model of sound card.

I didn't download stupid v1.4 to v1.5.

v1.0 to v1.4 installed on my Descent file but I don't see \"v1.4\" on the Main Menu. Think that game is so older can't show version on there. Right?

No, no. I mean, I already installed v1.4 on my Descent I. \"v1.4\" not displayed on the Descent Main Menu in lowest and right.

ahh ok, I don't really know what the difference is betwee 1.4 and 1.4a is. Check the readme's. It will be in there.
