Giving up the drink.

Post by catch22 »

Not sure why, but I made a decision to give up alcohol for a while.

First night out at a bar and not a drink in the system.

Not sure how long this will last but I've been making a lot of changes recently and I thought this might be an assured healthy one.

It feels really odd right now ...

Any thoughts to share?

Drink because you want to, not because you need to. If you can not go to a bar and not drink, then stop going to bars.

I'd rather be sober when going to a bar anyway.

Drink is a sneaky bastid that needs to be watched all the time.

I've cut down a lot in the last year or so also, no reason, just got bored of it...i got lucky. Some people don't.

the last time I got my drunk on was almost 10 years ago which was 4 pitchers of beer and 10 screaming nazi's (Rumplmints and Jagermeister)

Now I have maybe 1 pint of guinness every other month after a nice steak dinner.

If I do go to a bar I might have a Hennessey and Alizé (cognac) but then I switch to coffee for the rest of the night and laugh at all the drunks

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

I can't even remember when I had my last drink.. wait -- about two months ago, visiting friends. The guy makes a great sunrise :) That was my only drink last year. Since I don't like the effect of alcohol (and the taste of most alc-beverages) I never got into drinking.

The whole alcohol thing has never really appealed to me, especially the bragging about over-indulgence. I don't blame you for wanting to take the road less traveled.
