Post by thewolfe »

Can I use a 350w in a machine that has a 250w?

Sure you can. Upgrading the power supply won't do any harm.

you can use whatever physically fits in that machine. there is no limit to how much power you supply to a system. what matters is how clean and stable that power is being fed to it.

my HP 763n started out with a 200 Watt PSU, it now has a 550 Watt PSU.

Yeah it is perfectly safe to go up, down is what you want to avoid. The wattage they sell PSUs at is the peak wattage. You want to avoid having a PSU run at or near its peak for long durations, most PSUs reach optimal efficiency around 40-70% load, keep that in mind when purchasing one.

Same machine different question.

Looking for a manual for the T1150 emachine.

I took out the HD and \"cage\" and can't figure how to re-install.

I'm sure I can but a pic is worth.......

Can't find manual downloads on www.e4me.com

IIRC, it slides in from the side using grooves and rails on the top of the cage, then bolts down. Been a while since I had someones e-machine case around here though.

I work at an emachine-authorized service center and I don't recall ever seeing anywhere to get service manuals - they're pretty basic computers.

i guess thats why i couldnt get one then. ohwell.

OFFTOPIC: i needed one because someone had accidentally unplugged the front header cables off the motherboard for the power switch, power light and HDD Light. and i needed to figure out which wire went to which pin.

An emachine you say huh?

Here is your solution:
Take the machine, throw it in the garbage dumpster, go buy a real pc.

problem solved.
