I'm kind of surprised not to see FS3 on that list. At least PD got a link out of it. :)

Voted Descent 4. 72 currently. Not bad, especially considering Half-life has only 70...!

Been there, done that.

Good ole VE3D - haven't been there for years. Its quality kinda went down when being turned over to IGN.

Done. It's currently sitting at 132, about 4th or 5th out of the 20 in the poll.

Anyone else remember the Interplay poll?

I voted D4,

But the most surprising lack of a sequal is definitely Starcraft.

I'm sure Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are in the making in one form or another.

They are to popular not to be.

I was a little whore and voted for Diablo 3... but that's only because, well, it's true. Mainly because as much as a Descent 4 would be nice, there is less of a guarantee that it won't suck...

The Poop—Vertigo-inducing flying shooters were all the rage in the early days of 3D graphics. One of the more popular series was Descent. Both games were incredibly popular, and people still hold fond memories of them today. After a few years, the genre just died out for whatever reason. The game still has a regularly [visited] Planet site, believe it or not. Now that's some serious dedication!
Best part...

Oh, and how we will breakdance with glee on that joyous day.

Oh, and by the way...

I voted twice and was about to use some of my other accounts to vote more, then I realized I had come up with a useful application for a botnet: the ability to control thousands of votes!

Does anyone know why there hasn't been a StarCraft 2 yet?

I realize WarCraft 3 was Blizzard's next gen RTS and might have taken the place of StarCraft 2, but that game was/is way too popular just to leave it at that. It seems like such a viable franchise that I can't comprehend why, 7-8 years later there still hasn't been a sequel.

I'm sure it's in the works. They sold more copies of Starcraft in Korea than there are people.

Interplay is long gone. NO one will ever use them again to publish games.

As for FS3, FS2 only sold 25,000 copies compared to over 1 million for D1/2 and 50,000 for D3.

So it'd prolly just take a huge lump sum to get to produce any kind of D4 commercially?

That's it? That seems low even compared to contemporary budgets.

Contemporary, as in "at the time of its release."
