I trying to speed up an eMachine eMonster 800 running XP.
I looked on Crucial and it said not to exceed 256mb.
I had already added another 128mb and it shows up as 384 in the properties of My Computer.
Am I getting what I see and can I try for a total of 5142mb?
What could happen besides it not working?
More RAM?
Re: More RAM?
wish i could have that much!! too bad 32bit CPU's can only address ~3072 MB of RAMthewolfe wrote:Am I getting what I see and can I try for a total of 5142mb?

probably give you a BIOS Beep, or will not show all the RAM installed in windows and/or BIOS Screen.
Re: More RAM?
Or show the amount of RAM you installed, but fail to address it properly resulting in a HIGHLY unstable (if usable) system.AceCombat wrote:probably give you a BIOS Beep, or will not show all the RAM installed in windows and/or BIOS Screen.
