In the past, levels of obesity were desired, a queen or king were rated on their quality of living and quality of leadership on how fat they were. not saying its a good way to measure, but its all retrospective

They did that because most people traditionally think of the north geographic pole (well, maybe the solar equivalent) as up, and you have to agree on something for co-ordinate systems to mean anything.

It doesn't mean the universe shares that view (principally because it doesn't have any view).

Right hand rule applies to electromagnetism, not astronomy.

FYI, New Zealand ranges from about 37 deg south to 45 - whereas the "bottom" by that token would be no further north than 23.5 deg off the south pole, or 66.5 degrees south. It's a few thousand miles off.
